Play your part in Nature’s Recovery!
Here in Greater Manchester, we’re developing a Nature Recovery Plan, so we can protect, maintain, and improve our natural environment. We’d love to hear your views on how we can make our city region a greener place for people and wildlife.
Our survey gives you the chance to tell us your views on what you think of Greater Manchester’s environment and what we can do to improve it.
Help nature recover in the Greater Manchester Survey by 11.59pm on 28th February.
Be part of the plan
Greater Manchester is one of five areas selected by the Government to pilot the development of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
The Local Nature Recovery Strategy in Greater Manchester will be Greater Manchester’s Nature Recovery Plan. It is being created through a collaborative process led by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) in partnership with Natural England and the Greater Manchester Ecology Unit.
What will the plan do for Greater Manchester?
In the Nature Recovery Plan, we will set out our environmental vision for Greater Manchester and what we need to do to restore declining species and habitats. The plan will help us put funding and partnership work where it is needed most.
We want Greater Manchester’s natural environment to be a healthy place for our plants and animals to thrive. This means we aim to:
Improve the quality of current wildlife sites by better habitat management
Increase the size of current wildlife sites
Enhance connections between wildlife sites
Create new wildlife sites
Reduce the pressures on wildlife by improving the wider natural environment
To be more resilient, Greater Manchester’s green spaces needs to be: more, bigger, better and joined. We want to hear from you to help shape our plan and make our natural environment a beautiful place to be.
We want to know which areas you’d like us to improve. Why not head out on your lockdown walk and take a few pictures of where you’d like to see improvements?
Give us your thoughts by heading over to our survey on Greater Manchester’s nature by Sunday 28th February.
