Passionate about improving skills in Greater Manchester? Want to be part of a unique programme that will provide future-proof training to residents and businesses in the city-region?
We want to hear from you.
Skills for Growth is a three-year programme that directly responds to the skills needs identified by employers in Greater Manchester.
Following engagement with priority industries, we have compiled intelligence reports, which highlight the barriers and skills gaps businesses are currently facing.
We’re using this valuable insight to shape specifications, which you can bid for, to create innovative and evidence-based training programmes.
The Skills for Growth programme has been made possible thanks to European Social Funding and will focus on priority industries including:
- Construction (particularly retrofit and green technologies)
- Health and social care
- Life sciences
- Creative, technology and culture
The programme will also target priority individuals currently in employment to increase their skills levels and reduce inequalities. In particular, this will include Greater Manchester's ageing population, people who are low paid and women in employment.
For each commission we award, we’re looking for a main training provider to deliver the full specification in partnership with sub-contractors.
You must be on the GMCA Flexible Procurement System and meet the criteria for individual specifications to be the main training provider. The FPS only opens for new applicants a few times a year.
If you’re not currently on our FPS and are interested in collaborating with a main training provider on a future commission, please sign up to our newsletter, which includes information about upcoming collaboration events, progress on the programme and case studies.
