Manchester terror attack - how you can help

There will be a vigil tonight (Tuesday 23 May) at 6pm outside the Town Hall in Albert Square, Manchester, to remember the victims of the attack on Manchester Arena and show support to their families. Please attend if you can and show those that wish to frighten us that we are not scared.

A relief fund has been organised by Manchester City Council and the British Red Cross, you can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/redcross/manchesteremergencyfund or www.redcross.org.uk/manchester  . 

Manchester City Council has also opened a book of condolence for the victims and their families and this can be signed online or in person at Manchester Town Hall. Please be patient if you are trying to access the online book of condolence and are seeing error messages - the servers are struggling to cope with the demand. Please keep trying.

If you wish to lay flowers in memory of those who lost their lives, you can do this in the area around Manchester Cathedral.

Many public organisations are also flying their flags at half mast to show respect to those who lost their lives.

Last night there was an appeal for local people to give blood – but we understand that this isn’t the case now and people should revert to providing blood in the usual, routine way. For latest updates regarding donating blood, follow @GiveBloodNHS on Twitter.

Transport for Greater Manchester are providing updates regarding road closures and temporary transport diversions and delays. You can find out more on the TfGM website and from @OfficialTfGM on Twitter.
