#AskGMCA: Greater Manchester Leaders to take part in Twitter Q&A’s

GM Mayor Tony Lloyd will be answering questions on the GMCA’s Twitter account on Tuesday 14th June from 5pm until 6pm.

Tony Lloyd was appointed as Greater Manchester Mayor in June 2015 and is also the city-region’s Police and Crime Commissioner. As Mayor, Tony’s responsibilities include; transport, early years, transforming justice and devolution as a whole. Tony chairs meetings of the GMCA and works with GM Leaders to oversee the reforms of public services and efforts to create economic growth under the Greater Manchester Strategy.

GMCA Lead for Skills and Employment, Sean Anstee, will be answering questions in the second of June’s Q&A sessions on Thursday 30th June from 5pm to 6pm.

Cllr Anstee was elected to Trafford Council in 2008, and became council leader in 2014. As Greater Manchester’s Skills and Employment Lead, Sean oversees the city-region’s efforts to reform skills provision and ensure residents can access the well paid jobs that are being created locally.

Members of the public can send in their questions at any point from now until the events conclude by including #AskGMCA in their tweets.

The first series of Twitter Q&As took place in March, with GM Mayor Tony Lloyd fielding questions on a wide variety of issues, ranging from affordable housing and support for science and engineering skills to the future of transport in the region and reducing use of fossil fuels to combat climate change.

Tony Lloyd said: “I’m looking forward to answering more questions from GM residents. I want to see a Greater Manchester where everyone is able to take advantage of our growing economy and improve their lives.”
