Statement from Deputy Mayor Bev Hughes as recruitment for the new Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable role begins.

Greater Manchester’s Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime and Criminal Justice, Bev Hughes, said: “I am pleased to announce recruitment has started for Greater Manchester Police’s new Chief Constable role and a job advert has now gone live online.

“It is very important that permanent leadership is in place at GMP with a new Chief Constable who can build on the many strengths of the force. The role will involve leading a workforce of over 10,000 people, while ensuring Greater Manchester is a safe place to live and work. We hope we can make an appointment to the position as soon as possible.”
