We'll train Greater Manchester to build a real Northern Powerhouse says Greater Manchester Mayor Ton

“ It's time that the Government move beyond their Northern Powerhouse slogan and give Greater Manchester the funding and freedoms we need to build a real northern powerhouse. 

“ For too long people across Greater Manchester have been unable to access training courses that match the high skilled jobs we're creating here or the apprenticeships we need to build new homes.  I will work with business to identify gaps in our training strategy and I want Government to give Greater Manchester control of the money our businesses pays them to support apprenticeships to give our communities the skills needed to get the jobs that will improve their lives and increase our productivity.

“We're already working to improve transport links within Greater Manchester, work is underway on smart ticketing, bus regulation and improving our train stations now we need the Government to prioritise HS3 and deliver on their promises to the north.”
