Our people
The below images outline how some of our people across Greater Manchester may access projects and initiatives listed as in Greater Manchester's Digital Blueprint.
Plain text description: Four images of cartoon style characters, each with a different experience of access digital services. Amanda is a working mother of two children aged 18 months and 17, with a single income. Amanda lives in Bury, which means she can access Greater Manchester’s Early Years Application and has also accessed one of the 31,000 SIM cards issued via the Greater Manchester Databank. Amanda completed a digital skills course, funded through Adult Education Budget funded activity to improve digital literacy. Bella is 17, during the pandemic she became excluded from the digital world, as her family didn’t own a device, Bella lost contact with her friends and her education and her wellbeing suffered. Through digital inclusion and skills initiatives, she has been able to find out about wellbeing support and remains connected with her friends. Bella is interested in a digital career and so participated in a Work Place Safari organised by a group of tech employers. Sam is 2 and a half years old and lives with his mum and sister. From birth, Sam’s mum has used the Early Years App, including to monitor his speech and other development and Sam’s additional needs have been identified earlier. Mohammed is a retired 72-year-old who lives next door to Amanda and her children and is a social housing resident. Through Get Online GM: for social housing residents, Mohammed has been able to get online via a social tariff, and is continuing to improve his digital skills through other Get Online GM initiatives.
