Joint Supplementary Planning Documents

On behalf of, and in conjunction with, the Places for Everyone (PfE) Plan local planning authorities (Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan), the GMCA is co-ordinating the production of two joint Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). These SPDs are being produced to support the implementation of the PfE Plan.

The PfE Plan is the “parent development plan document (DPD)” for both SPDs. The PfE Plan has already been subject to a Habitat Regulation Assessment (HRA), details of which can be found on the GMCA website. The SPDs do not introduce new policy or affect the location or amount of new development proposed. Instead, they seek to assist in ensuring that appropriate mechanisms are in place to mitigate adverse impacts from qualifying developments on protected habitat and species. The SPDs will, however, be used as a material consideration, to inform Development Management decisions within the PfE Plan area.
