Multiply Overview

The Greater Manchester Multiply Scheme offered easy access to free local numeracy courses and workshops that can help residents improve math's skills and become more confident with numbers.

The GM Multiply programme was designed to support residents with the essential life skills they need, such as support with cost-of-living or improving their health at home. It was ensured that the course was delivered alongside English and Digital, so all residents had a full rounded offer.

The scheme aimed to support residents living in the most deprived areas of Greater Manchester, as well as care leavers and ex-offenders.

The key strands to the programme outlined below:

  • Pan Greater Manchester Multiply Skills Offer: Aimed at residents within the most deprived areas of the city-region, this offer engaged residents with short courses relevant to them with a view of progressing onto further learning including Maths qualifications. This was delivered by The Growth Company as well as wide range of supply chain partners.

  • Enhanced Level 2: This offered additional support and help for Greater Manchester residents enrolled on Level 2 Maths via AEB, but who might not achieve their qualification. This support was ring-fenced to current Greater Manchester AEB providers delivering Level 2 Maths qualifications.

  • Pan Greater Manchester VCSE Offer: This commission offered VCSE/Third sector organizations the opportunity to carry out outreach and engagement work to support residents hardest to reach onto a Multiply opportunity.

  • Multiply Offer for Care Leavers, Ex-offenders and Employers
