Greater Manchester Combined Authority is made up of the 10 Greater Manchester councils (which includes the Salford City Mayor) plus the Mayor of Greater Manchester. Each GMCA member is given a policy brief by the Mayor which they lead on for Greater Manchester.
The Mayor joins Greater Manchester’s Combined Authority as its chair and eleventh member. He is also the lead for Policy & Reform and Transport. The leaders of the 10 councils (which includes the Salford City Mayor) form the Mayor’s Cabinet.
The Mayor is also supported by the Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime, Criminal Justice and Fire, Kate Green and an additional Deputy Mayor appointed from amongst the GMCA members. This Deputy Mayor role is currently held by Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett.
