Spring Update on The Information Sharing Project

Spring Update on The Information Sharing Project

Last time we updated on a series of workshops to gather ideas on what our platform needed to be and key areas of focus. These were completed by the end of November and work has been ongoing to shape a clear information sharing process in set stages. We have been shaping all the feedback gathered into user requirements and user journeys through the framework. These tools are now with our Lovely Digital Design Solution team to explore possible platform options. We expect to have an agreed platform proposal with a long-term sustainability model by June this year.

Work has also begun on shaping our content needs for the platform. This has been shaped by what people told us needed to be covered to support their journeys. It is aligned to each stage, as shown in the image below.

Graphic showing each stage of the Information Sharing Framework, with text reading 1. Purpose, what are you trying to achieve? 2. Needs, What do you need to share? 3. Who, Who is it that needs to be involved? 4. Practical steps, The tasks involved to progress from aim to action. 5. How, exploring appropriate ways to share the actual data or information. 6. Review, Conducting the necessary review steps. 7. Exit planning, Making sure projects end as appropriate.

Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) recruitment

We have welcomed our KTP recruit into post at the end of November.

Idris Adekeye is came into post as our KTP Associate. He will be taking forward our business change toolkit which aims to support professionals take the platform into their organisations and encourage wider use to support a consistent change in confidence and understanding of practice in this space. Idris has flown through early activity and is currently conducting interviews with professionals across Greater Manchester to understand their experiences with information and data governance.

If this is something you want to get involved in please see the KTP page for contact details.

What's Next?

Once we have finished identifying all the content needs for the platform, we will be moving into a building stage. This means we will be sharing the proposed platform and content to various networks to identify any gaps or issues from different sector perspectives. We will also be seeking volunteers to share existing good practice templates and participate in working groups to shape content.

So, if you want to get involved there are going to be plenty of opportunities to contribute to shaping the platform as we progress. Please feel free to get in touch if your organisation or network wants to hear more about what we are doing or if you want to participate in working groups. You can get in touch via connectedgm@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk
